Lindsey Jones is a researcher working on issues related to climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction and resilience. He has dedicated his career to supporting development and humanitarian stakeholders to respond to social and environmental threats both now and the future. Lindsey has designed and led a number of large international research progammes in Africa and Asia, having held positions at leading think tanks, research institutes and development organisations.

April 2020 – present Senior Risk Analyst (Consultant). World Bank, Global Crisis Risk Platform
Providing analytical support to the Global Crisis Risk Platform (GCRP) within the Fragility, Conflict and Violence group (FCV). The role focuses on tracking the impacts of compound disaster risk globally (i.e. the likelihood that countries are hit by multiple interacting threats). The work aims to inform decision makers of current and future compound risks, guiding anticipatory action.

Conducting research of a range of topics related to climate change, disaster risk reduction and resilience. Research has strong links to the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the and Environment.

Role was to develop research and provide technical support relating to climate change adaptation and resilience. Activities included: creating new methods for measuring adaptation and resilience across scales; supporting the uptake of climate information into long-term decision making within NGOs and other development organisations; and providing technical assistance to developing country governments in planning for and evaluating adaptation solutions.
